Гарольд Шехтер (Harold Schechter) – американский писатель, специализирующийся на документальных книгах о серийных убийцах. Дважды номинированный на премию «Эдгар»55, он является автором книг Fatal; Bestial; Deviant; Deranged; Depraved; The Mad Sculptor; Man-Eater; «Энциклопедия серийных убийц», «Подонок», бестселлера по версии Amazon Charts «Принцесса ада: История леди Синей Бороды» и сборника Bloodlands: The Dark Heart of Our History. Шехтер учился в Государственном университете Нью-Йорка в Буффало, где получил степень доктора философии под руководством Лесли Фидлера.
