«Хорошей» считалась смерть, когда человек до конца прожил свою судьбу-долю. В лучшем случае это была естественная смерть в старости, в окружении детей и внуков. Часто ее можно было предвидеть: непосредственно перед ней бывали предчувствия и видения – во сне или наяву. Согласно традиционным представлениям, мертвые всегда находились рядом, за невидимой завесой, а для того, кто оказывался на краю смерти, эта завеса приоткрывалась. Явление мертвых не вызывало страха, оно служило сигналом, что пришел твой срок и пора завершать земные дела.
